YELLOW IPÊ

Protecting forests, biodiversity,and communities

We are a team with over 25 years of experience in developing forest conservation projects with internationally certified carbon credit generation.

Project Overview & Key Metrics

The Yellow Ipê Project is a large-scale REDD+ initiative located in the municipalities of Novo Aripuanã and Borba, in the southern Amazonas state, Brazil.

Developed since early 2020, the project is designed to deliver high-quality, Verra-certified emission reductions while safeguarding biodiversity and generating positive social impacts.

Conservation and protection
of bonobo habitat

Fighting illegal deforestation and promoting sustainable agricultural production.

Preserving habitats for bonobos and other protected species such as the Congo peacock and dwarf crocodile.

Social and economic development of the involved local populations.

Sustainable long-term funding for project
actions.

The focus of this project is forest conservation through combating both illegal and legal deforestation, as a means to preserve endangered fauna and mitigate climate change by reducing carbon emissions. Simultaneously, it addresses the sustainable long-term development of local communities with actions that provide better living conditions and land use without causing environmental degradation.

We prevent deforestation and reduce the impact of carbon emissions on the climate

By structuring REDD+ (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation) projects in the Congo Basin, the second-largest tropical forest in the world.

Our focus is on fighting legal and illegal deforestation, preserving species and biodiversity through solutions with a high socioeconomic impact on local communities.

We add value to the entire
partner chain

We engage governmental entities, institutions, and carbon market investing companies in work that goes beyond its environmental purpose. It benefits all participants in the chain of action, from the financial to the economic and social spheres.

We promote sustainable community development

We share knowledge, technology, and best practices in sustainable agroforestry management, which preserve the ecosystem while creating development opportunities for local families and villages.

International standard credibility assurance

Our actions are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and are guided by international performance standards for REDD+ projects, such as Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), SocialCarbon (SC) and Climate Community and Biodiversity (CCB).

These standards ensure project credibility through independent audit assessments of its outcomes, bringing security and the assurance of success to all parties involved in it.
